Services
Brooklyn OT offers a range of services, including direct treatment sessions, evaluations, parent education, observations, and consultations. Our sessions are designed to help your child reach their full potential by working on self-regulation, executive function, motor skills, and self-care skills.

PERSONALIZED in-home therapy
At the initiation of therapy, we will collaborate with your family to set personalized goals and identify areas for improvement. Throughout the treatment process, our sessions will focus on building meaningful skills and fostering independence. Sessions are designed to meet these important goals while still incorporating play, relationship-building, and your child’s specific interests. Each session is typically 45 minutes, with sessions occurring one or more times per week.

Evaluations
Evaluations are tests which give us a clearer picture of your child’s strengths and needs. Evaluations include a mix of standardized assessments and clinical observations. They can be used to determine if your child has any lagging skills in the areas of: school-readiness skills, executive function, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, self-regulation and sensory processing skills. An evaluation helps us better understand how to support your child and what areas to target in therapy. Evaluations can also be used to provide a diagnostic code which can help with insurance reimbursement.

in-School observations
We will observe your child during a part of his or her school day and make recommendations to the school staff about additional adaptations and supports tailored to your child. In-school observations give a different perspective on your child, and provide an opportunity to identify barriers to success and possible solutions.

parent EDUCATION
Parent education is a flexible service which can be scheduled according to a parent’s needs. This may include but is not limited to:
