FAQs
Feel free to contact us at rachel@brooklyn-ot.com with any questions not answered below!
What Population Do You Serve?
Brooklyn OT provides occupational therapy services to children and teens ranging from 2 years to 22 years of age. We specialize in working with children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Down syndrome, self-regulation challenges, executive function challenges, and other diagnoses or differences which may impact a child’s function.
What Are The Benefits Of In-Home Occupational Therapy?
Research shows that home and community-based services help to improve skill carry-over and family participation in the therapeutic process. Through a home or community-based model, the therapist is able to increase family, caregiver, and teacher education which leads to a more supportive and therapeutic environment throughout the week. Providing children with services in their natural environment helps work on goals in a meaningful context, personalize care to a family’s needs, and is typically one of the most cost-effective ways to receive care!
